Established in 1992, the International Gay & Lesbian Association (“IGLFA”) has fostered the establishment of recreational and competitive football (aka soccer) for all gay women, men and transgender athletes throughout the world. Their mission is to develop a global network of football or soccer clubs to promote the physical, mental and tactical understanding of the international game of football. Through the IGLFA soccer clubs membership association they provide “safe” playing opportunities for LGBT players both at a local and international level.
